I Can Haz Cheezburger?

Many of you know of lolcats, but bare with me since I know some of my readers don't.

Lolcats are pictures of animals with captions. Mostly cats. Lots of cats. The word is from "lol," short form of "laughing out loud" made popular from the texting boom, and of course "cat." The site that shows off these lovelies is icanhascheezburger.com. It's an odd site name, and it comes from the caption of the first lolcat:


Let's face it, that's funny. It's a fat cat. It's asking for a cheeseburger. What's not to love? The captions are usually in the animal's voice, and all pet owners know they spell more phonetically than we do. If you check out the site you'll see all sorts of nonsense going on, including some short story lines. Lookout for the walrus who lost his bucket.
